Solar PV stands for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and is a solar panel electricity system which is normally sited on your roof.  It uses the power of sunlight to generate cheap, green electricity for your home.

The solar panels are made up of photovoltaic cells which convert the sun’s energy into electricity.  This electricity can then be used to run your household appliances and lighting in your home.  The cells don’t necessarily need direct sunlight, they can still generate some electricity on cloudy days too.
