Conservatories provide a versatile space which can be used as a sun room, dining room, family room, play room, etc. They provide shelter from the elements and let in light and warmth from the garden. They are a cost effective way of creating more space without the need to move house.
At Nene Valley Eco Home Improvements we use a strong, rigid, lightweight aluminium framed roof which complies to BS6399. These regulations ensure that the roof is tested to 130mph hurricane force wind speeds and snow loading. A specific structural survey for each postcode installation is conducted.
Our roof is designed to fit our bespoke PVCu conservatory windows and doors with a wide choice of decorative features.
Several colour options are available including white, brown, mahogany, light oak and rosewood.
Perfect weatherproofing is achieved by prefabricating the conservatory roof prior to installation. There are special proven weather seal details which include the rain baffle in the ridge system, secondary drainage in the glazing system and special flashing details which combine to make it totally impervious to water penetration.
The glass we use for the roof and sides is a new generation of glazing which allows the light in, yet it keeps out around 60% of the sun's heat in the Summer and due to its excellent thermal properties it helps keep the interior warm in the winter.
The benefits and properties of the glass used:
- Argon filled and it has a very low U value of 1.1 so it is thermally efficient.
- Offers a 10 year guarantee.
- It stays cleaner for longer than conventional glass as a transparent coating is bonded to the surface of the glass which uses the power of ultra-violet rays and the rain to breakdown dirt and wash it away.
- Rain noise is reduced.
At Nene Valley Eco Home Improvements, we can offer a range of conservatory configurations including the Victorian (3 and 5 face), Georgian, Mediterranean, p-shape, t-shape and lantern.
